This project deals with the urban divide between Nof Hagalil and Nazareth. Highway 75, which serves as a boundary between the two cities, runs through this area and exacerbates the division in the built environment. At the heart of this divide stands an elevated complex that housing government offices and the courthouse, which further entrenches the separation. The proposal aims to mend this urban wound by introducing 'stitches' that link the urban centers, fostering traffic and encouraging community engagement in public spaces.
Highway 75 as a border in the urban space between the two cities
The space containing court and government offices as a central point that perpetuates the separation between the cities
How do we define the relationship between government institutions and our urban space?
Planning scheme - identifying the strengths in each city and 'sewing' these spaces by strengthening the traffic systems and the walkways that connect them.
Scheme of key areas - identifying the important centers of interest in each of the cities and encouraging traffic between them.
Traffic scheme - hierarchical transportation rings that include Metro, inner-city TRAM, and walkable areas.
Ground floor plan
